We are a sea angling club in its 56th year located in Hayling Island on the south coast of Hampshire offering both beach and boat match fishing throughout the year for both competition and pleasure minded anglers. We also have a junior section which includes a beach series running through the spring and summer period as well as an open boat competition.
As well as fishing we also run a number of social events throughout the calendar including skittles evenings, quiz nights and a presentation evening.
Our membership includes anglers from Berkshire, Surrey and London as well as our local areas and we are always looking out for new members, senior and juniors alike. Further details are available on the membership page of this website.
Our boat fishing is concentrated in the solent area with twelve monthly competitions throughout the year on Sundays. We have matches dedicated to rays, bream and a species hunt as well as general fishing. Fishing is either aboard one of two charter boats based in Haslar Marina, Gosport (with pick-up and drop-off also from the Hayling ferry pontoon) as well as from private boats. The main species caught are smoothounds (individual match weights of up to 200lb are common), black bream, bass, rays, whiting and pout, and of course there are plenty of doggies!! There are also annual trips organised for tope, bass and plaice.
Our beach fishing consists of twelve monthly competitions throughout the year fished at various venues from Southampton Water, Lee-on-the-Solent and Gosport to the west, through to Selsey, Pagham and Goring to the east, as well as our own very productive beach. We also run a series of junior beach matches on the island throughout the spring and summer months (if sufficient interest).
